Nancy S. (Eggeman) McConkey, age 90, of Orrville, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 3, 2025, at the Apostolic Christian Village in Rittman, following a period of declining health.

Born on June 14, 1935, in Wellington, Ohio, Nancy was the daughter of the late Carleton and Yolanda (Palmer) Beal. She graduated from Berea High School and later married Wayne Eggeman on November 26, 1961, in Marshallville. Wayne preceded her in death on May 14, 1986. Nancy found love again and married Charles "Red" McConkey on December 9, 1993, in Orrville. Red passed away on July 1, 2016.

Nancy dedicated 20 years of service to Wooster Community Hospital, where she worked as a Central Services Technician. Her commitment to care and cleanliness reflected her quiet strength and deep sense of responsibility.

She was a devoted member of St. Michael's Lutheran Church in Marshallville, where her faith was a cornerstone of her life.

A woman of many talents and passions, Nancy was especially known for her love of crocheting. With generous hands and a warm heart, she created and donated thousands of handmade blankets to family members, nursing homes, hospitals, and charities over the years. She was also an avid sports fan-cheering faithfully for the Cleveland Browns-and enjoyed baking, watching game shows, and reading. Nancy was always impeccably dressed and proud of her signature style-never once caught by the fashion police.

Above all, Nancy cherished time with her family, especially her beloved grandchildren, and found joy in their presence and accomplishments.

She is survived by her children, Roberta Lancaster of Gassaway, WV; Jack (Jackie) Eggeman of Orrville; Connie (Paul) Hopkins of Canton; and Ann Eggeman of Wooster; step-daughter, Cindy Zimmerman of Orrville; step-sons, Brian (Donna) McConkey and Patrick McConkey, both of Orrville; 14 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and her sister, Lois Beal of Lansdale, PA.

In addition to her parents and husbands, Nancy was preceded in death by her daughter, Peggy Bishop; step-daughter, Betty McConkey; step-son, Darren McConkey; and siblings, Marion Grugle, Betty Holland, Joseph Beal, and Jack Beal.

Friends may call on Thursday, October 9, 2025, at St. Michael's Lutheran Church, 7404 Coal Bank Road, Marshallville, from 3:00 p.m. to 3:45 p.m. A funeral service will follow at 4:00 p.m., with Pastor Lisa Arledge officiating. Burial will take place at the church cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Michael's Lutheran Church, 7404 Coal Bank Road, Marshallville, OH 44645, or to the Apostolic Christian Village, 10680 Steiner Road, Rittman, OH 44270.
