Joan L. Geiser , age 90, of Marshallville, died Friday, August 22, 2025, at Brookdale Senior Living in Wooster, following a period of declining health.

Joan was born on June 25, 1935, in Marshallville, Ohio, to the late D. Leroy and Florence (Weygandt) Galehouse and was a life resident of Marshallville.

She graduated from Dalton High School in the class of 1953 and married Edgar Geiser on July 14, 1955. Edgar preceded her in death on December 13, 2016.

Joan was well known for her baking skills, winning a blue ribbon at the Wayne County Fair for her angel food cake as a youth. That skill led to a job as a cake decorator at Buehler's in Orrville and later a wedding cake business. She only lost two towering cakes to Ohio's heat and humidity. Joan had wanted to be a nurse since childhood, after reading about Florence Nightingale. Late in life she realized that dream when she went back to college and achieved her LPN certification, working several years at Wadsworth Rittman Hospital. Not one to sit still, she and her husband Edgar, owned and operated a craft store called the Craft Gazebo in Norton. Retirement for Joan was traveling with her husband, tending to her many flowers and being an avid reader and frequent face at the Orrville Public Library.

Surviving are three daughters, Pamela (Victor) Martin of Great Bend, KS, Belinda Ennemoser of Marshallville, OH and Amy (Robert Fickert) Geiser of Wadsworth, OH; son, Mark (Stephanie) Geiser of Marshallville, OH; four grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; beloved husband, Edgar; and a son-in-law Bob Ennemoser.

Friends may call Thursday, September 11, 2025 from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Auble Funeral Home, 512 E. Oak St., Orrville.

Graveside services will be held on Thursday, September 11 at 4:30 p.m. at St. Michael's Cemetery in Marshallville, with Pastor Don E. Bolich officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Ohio's LifeCare Hospice, 1900 Akron Rd., Wooster, OH 44691.
