Ann Whitman Smith was welcomed into the loving arms of her Heavenly Father on December 23, 2025. She also had a joyful reunion with her eternal companion Eugene.

Ann was born on July 26, 1940, to Josh Lavon and Mary Della Whitman in Logan, Utah.

She was raised in Richmond, Utah, where she attended North Cache High school.

Ann kept busy throughout high school. She worked at the local drug store, competed in local pageants and was even crowned queen during the black and white days in Richmond.

She also found time to admire the cute Smith boy around the block. Ann and Eugene dated a bit in high school, but went their separate ways for a time.

Ann attended beauty school in SLC Utah. Earning her certificate as a beautician. After completing her schooling, She worked at a couple of salons one in Logan and one in Lewiston.

After a few years apart Ann reunited with her sweetheart Eugene. They were later married and lived in Richmond where they raised their 4 daughters until Eugene got a job with Utah Power and they moved to Tremonton, Utah where they had the last of their 5 daughters.

Ann and Eugene were sealed for time and all eternity with their daughters in the Logan temple in 1972.

Ann took care of children while her daughters were all still in school. The children she took care of lovingly called her Mama Ann.

One of her most rewarding jobs was working at McKinley Elementary School as a teacher’s aide. She truly enjoyed helping the children and watching them learn and grow.

Ann was on the board for Pennie’s by the inch at primary children’s hospital for many years. She helped to collect thousands of dollars to help the families with sick children, who couldn’t afford to pay for medical care.

Ann loved to dance. She and Eugene went every Saturday night over to Hyrum, Utah with their friends to the Elite Hall to dance. She and dad made quite a handsome couple out on the dance floor.

Ann was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in many callings within the church, where she donated her time.

She was preceded in death by her sweetheart Eugene Smith, parents Jay and Della Whitman, brothers Ronald, Robert, Raymond Whitman, in-laws Roy and Lona Smith.

She is survived by her five Daughters: Kim (Brent) Christenson, Angie White, Sandra (Tony) Hall, Sue (Allan) Gehrke, Jean (Chad) Coburn. 14 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, Sister Janet (Gordon) May, Sister Sharon Whitman, Sister Shirley Whitman, and many nieces and nephews.
