Mrs. Ann C. Smith, daughter of the late Norma J. Cleveland and Hubert Ware was born August 1, 1945, in Jonesboro, Arkansas. She departed this life on March 4, 2026, in Springfield, Missouri at 80 years of age.

Ann was united in marriage to Robert "Bob" Smith on November 18, 2005. They shared 17 years of marriage before Robert's passing on October 24, 2023.

Ann graduated from an LPN program and was employed as a nurse for many years. She then went back and obtained her RN in 1993. She was a home health nurse for many years. She then went on to care for hospice patients for 14 years before her retirement.

Ann enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She was also active in church until her health changed. Ann and Bob enjoyed traveling across the United States and gardening.

Ann was preceded in death by her infant son (Dewayne), her brother (Gary), mother (Norma Jeanette), father (Hubert), sister (Marian), her niece, her nephew, and her husband Robert Smith.

She is survived by her daughter Patricia and husband Dennis Payne; her son Brian and wife Stephanie Nimmo; four grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren: Kara Bassak and fiancé Dalton Peterson, Brad and wife Kelsey Nimmo, and Lauren Nimmo, and her fiancé' Matt Curtis; and long-time family friend, Jerry DeFreeze. She has many other friends and family that she has left behind that will also miss her.

A visitation for Ann Smith will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Greenlawn Funeral home North in Springfield, with the funeral service to follow at 3:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made in Ann's memory to Phoenix Hospice.
