Martin Smith Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Bradley Funeral Home - Marlton on Mar. 10, 2026.
Martin J. Smith, III, age 76, passed away peacefully on March 9, 2026.

Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Martin was raised in the Grays Ferry section of South Philadelphia. In 1983, he moved to Marlton, New Jersey, where he made his home and raised his family.

Martin proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era. Following his service, he built a long and fulfilling career as an electrician at the Philadelphia Oil Refinery, dedicating 50 years to the work he truly loved.

Martin was known for his ability to fix just about anything. He enjoyed tinkering, working with his hands, and solving problems. In quieter moments, he loved reading books about history and war, always eager to learn more about the past.

Above all else, Martin cherished time with his family. He especially loved making memories with his children and grandchildren, including many happy days spent together at the beaches of Ocean City, Maryland.

He was the beloved husband of nearly 56 years to Patricia (née McCarron). Loving father of Martin J. Smith, IV (Kerry), Matthew J. Smith (Tracy), and Helen Milillo (Stephen). Devoted grandfather of Alyssa, Thomas, Anna, Patrick, Marley, and Gabriel. Dear brother of Linda (Ray), Kyle (Kim), and David. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Martin's viewing on Thursday, March 12th from 10:00 AM to 11:15 AM at St. Joan of Arc Church, Marlton, NJ. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 AM following the viewing. Burial will follow at Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donation in his memory may be made to OUR HOUSE MINISTRIES, 1441 S. 29th St. Philadelphia, PA 19146 or by visiting, https://www.ourhouseministries.org/
