Ann Mary Sobocinski, 101, of Milford, beloved wife of the late Wallie Sobocinski, passed away on December 30, 2024. Born on July 9, 1923 in Marydel, MD, she was the daughter of the late Wasili and Sarah (Escheshak) Antoniuk.
A passionate gardener, Ann found joy in cultivating vibrant flowers and delicious vegetables, particularly her cherished tomatoes. Her green thumb brought beauty to her home and happiness to those around her. Ann was an active member of the Polish Club, and she embraced her heritage by sharing her love for polka dancing. She also had a playful spirit, frequently trying her luck at the casino slots. A talented seamstress, Ann crafted beautiful clothing for herself and her husband, showcasing her creativity and love for family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Ann is survived by her daughter-in-law, Rosemary Sobocinski; her grandchildren, Valerie Mallard and Jennifer St. Onge; her great-grandchildren, Joel Mallard, and Matthew and Maddalena St. Onge; her sister, Helen Restucci; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her late husband, Ann was predeceased by her son, Donald Sobocinski, and her siblings, Alexander, William, Frederic, and Sophie Crown.
All services will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Home Care Plus Community Healthcare & Hospice, 753 Boston Post Rd. Suite 200, Guilford, CT 06437.
