LAURINBURG — In loving memory of Ann Brock Stack, age 79, who passed away on January 26, 2024. She was born in New Orleans, LA to the late Allen H Brock and Sarah Applewhite Brock and was lovingly married to Douglas Lee Stack, who predeceased her.
Ann attended Wake Forest University, Lee's McRae College, culminating in her graduation from NC State University with a Bachelor of Arts. Ann majored in History and minored in Social Studies and Education. Ann was a well-respected teacher for many years, finding immense joy in her profession. She was honored to be the first teacher to represent Scotland County Schools in the Laurinburg-Oban Sister City Exchange Program. Her pioneering efforts paved the way for future exchanges, a legacy still ongoing to this day.
Ann found joy in her passion for arts, antiques, traveling, history, reading, and watching Jeopardy. Her love for horses and cherished moments with friends and family added vibrancy to her life. She is survived by her daughter, Sarah Gibson (Daryl), and grandchildren Hannah Lambert (Chris), Jessica Quick (Chad), and Tripp Gibson. In accordance with Ann's wishes, there will be no funeral services. The family plans to hold a private memorial at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests memorials to be sent to the Humane Society of Scotland County, 1401 West Blvd., Laurinburg, NC 28352 or The Children's Home Society of North Carolina, 604 Meadow Street, Greensboro, NC 27405. Ann's legacy lives on through the love she shared, the memories she created, and her significant contributions to education and cultural exchange.

Ann was such a sweet lady and your Dad was one of a kind. Enjoyed working with him so many years at the bank. I think Ann loved horses as much as I do!

A serious class act, full of fun, great stories, wit and beautiful southern charm.
I was her flower girl in her wedding and was awed by her as a youngster and remained that way my whole life. She´ll be missed for certain. Much love to Sarah, Daryl , Tripp and the girls and those fortunate enough to have known and loved her too. So very sorry for this Huge loss
