Ann Stark Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Frederick Funeral Home on Oct. 4, 2024.
Ann Theresa Stark (nee Schmitz), beloved wife of 58 years to the late Thomas Joseph Stark. Devoted mother of Terri (John) Perrino, Kristi (Rick) Drout, Peggi (Mike) O'Donoghue and Bethi (Derek) Kautzmann. Loving grandmother of Nico, Josie (Nolan), Riki (Lee), Noah (Alaurah), Shaun (Virginia), Sara (Lee), Joey, Rusty (Mel), Lance, and Derek. Great grandmother of Roman, Paige, the late Macy Annabelle, Lucas, Sloane, Dominic, and baby boy Drout due in November. Dear sister of the late Anthony Schmitz, late William (late Shirley) Schmitz, late Maggie (late Ray) Schwartz, late Gus (Janet) Schmitz, late Alice (late John) Ittner, late Bob (Sylvia) Schmitz, late Joe (late Mary Jo) Schmitz, late Paul (late Janet) Schmitz, Allen 'Boug' (late Janet, late Marie) Schmitz. Beloved sister in-law to Mary (Tony) Esposito and late Nick (Bea) Stark II. Also survived by many beloved godchildren, nieces, nephews and lifelong friends. Annie was a devout Catholic who enjoyed daily Mass and many faith sharing experiences from Bible in a Year and Catechism in a Year with Father Mike to various faith sharing groups at St. I's, St. Clare, St. Ann's and her beloved St. John the Baptist. Annie loved playing and coaching softball in her earlier days. She devoted many volunteer hours to Struble Elementary PTA. She loved entertaining in her home with Tommy and swimming with family and friends in her backyard oasis. For more than 30 years, during the summer, Mondays were reserved for pool days. Another gathering and a constant source of joy - especially teaching little ones how to swim. Finally, Annie was an accomplished lifelong seamstress extraordinaire capable of creating-mending-altering whatever was needed. Her specialty was wedding dresses!
Annie passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, at the age of 84. A holiday themed party to celebrate Annie will take place at Lakeridge Hall, 7210 Pippin Road on Sunday (October 6) 5 pm - 9 pm. Feel free to dress in your favorite holiday attire (especially, Halloween or Christmas!). A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 5361 Dry Ridge Rd on Monday (October 7) at 11:00 am. Mass will be live streamed at St. John the Baptist Livestream. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Tom and Annie Stark Memorial Scholarship Fund (https://www.cincinnatistate.edu/give/donate-now/) (scroll down to locate drop down and select, or mail check to college with fund in memo) or Little Brothers - Friends of the Elderly (LBFE), (https://littlebrotherscincinnati.org/). Although I live in FL. now, a friend from Cincinnati notified me about Annie. I was fortunate enough to visit with Annie and the twins again at the Struble Elementary School Closing (see pictures attached).
I met Annie at Struble because I taught her precious Bethi in first grade.
I recall at the ceremony that Annie was just as positive as ever, and still made the teachers feel so appreciated with her cheerful attitude and favorable comments.
I would like to offer my condolences and wish the family and loved ones memories that ease their
loss and heal their sadness. May they be touched by the healing power of
prayer and may God Bless the family and loved ones.
