Our loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Ann M. Stein (McFarland), age 75 of Bay City, Michigan, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 8, 2024, at McLaren Hospital in Flint, Michigan. Ann M. Stein was born July 6, 1949 to the late Elmer and Viola (Rivard) McFarland. Ann was a very devout Catholic and lifelong member of Our Lady of Peace Parish, she was also a lifelong member of the Perpetual Adoration Chapel.
Ann always carried a bright smile, even in the face of her many illnesses and trials, she was a cherished soul, always ready to lend a helping hand. Above all, she deeply loved her dear husband, Rex. In August, they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. Alongside being a devoted wife, Ann was a proud mother who cherished her family above all else; they meant the world to her.
Left to cherish her memories are her husband, Rex Stein; children: Tom Stein, Kevin Stein, Keith Stein, Scott (Kathleen) Stein, Steve Stein (Shelly Miller), Mark Stein, Mary Beth (Jason) Remisoski, Renee Stein, Michelle Stein, and Kim Stein. Grandsons Lance Remisoski, Alexander Nixon; siblings: George (Cathy) McFarland, Paul (Lynn) McFarland, Jerome McFarland, Mary Graveline, Joan Trombley and Janet (Duane) Hamling; brothers-in-law: Roy (Debbie) Stein, William "Bill" Wittbrodt, Patrick Hughes, sisters-in-law: Sherry Helm and Shilee Songerath; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and great-great- nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by many, especially her lifelong friends Diane Delong and Anne Sweircz. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by mother-in-law Florence Stein, father-in-law, Edward Stein, and daughter-in-law Rochelle Stein, her grandson Peter Nixon, Jr. and her siblings: Jim McFarland, Kay Wittbrodt, Delores Hughes; brother-in-laws: Harold Stein, Roy Graveline, Art Trombley.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12:00 PM, Friday, December 13, 2024 at Corpus Christi Parish - Holy Trinity Church. Fr. William J. Rutkowski will celebrate. Family and friends may gather for visitation from 10:00 AM - 12:00. A burial will take place at Great Lakes National Cemetery. Those considering a memorial donation in her name may wish to consider Bay County Right to Life. https://www.baycountyrighttolife.org/.
