Ann Ginyard Tanner, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on November 13, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love and devotion that touched the lives of so many. Born in Pike County on September 27, 1957, Ann was a vibrant spirit who devoted her life to her family and community. Funeral services will be at 11:00am on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at Green Hills Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow the service at Carroll Street Cemetery.
With a strong commitment to service, Ann worked for over 30 years in civil service, dedicating the latter part of her career at the Department of Veteran's Affairs in Tuskegee and throughout southeast Alabama. Her work was a testament to her unwavering dedication to helping others and making a positive difference in their lives.
Ann's educational journey began at Charles Henderson High School, where she graduated in 1977. She continued her pursuit of knowledge at Trenholm State Technical College, earning an associate's degree in business administration. This foundation would serve her well in her professional endeavors and further exemplified her commitment to personal growth.
Married to the love of her life, Tanner, Ann found joy in every moment they shared. Together, they built a life rich with love, and though Tanner has preceded her in death, the memories they created together will forever remain etched in the hearts of all who knew them.
Ann was immensely proud of her family, embracing the role of a devoted believer and participating actively in church activities. She found great joy in spending time with her children, especially her daughter, Sabrina Bean, and cherishing special moments with her grandkids, Tyler Bean and Madison Bean. To Ann, family was everything.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Sabrina Bean (Travis); her cherished grandchildren, Tyler Bean and Madison Bean; her devoted aunt, Pearl Mitchell; and her siblings, Claretha Potts, James Ginyard Jr., Willie R. Ginyard, Willie A. Ginyard (Felecia), Douglas Ginyard, and Cynthia Thomas (James). Ann will also be lovingly remembered by her sister-in-law, Vivian White; and a host of nieces and nephews, including Monica Ginyard, Flossie White, Demelsa White (LaQuiesha), Jessica Ginyard, Stella Ginyard, Verita White, Taylor Thomas, Desiree Ginyard, Christopher White, Clevesta White Jr., Reginald Ginyard, and Jonathan Ginyard.
Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Flossie and James A. Ginyard; her husband, Eugene Tanner; and her siblings, Clevesta White and Cathy Ginyard. Each of them played a significant role in shaping the loving woman Ann became.
As we remember Ann Ginyard Tanner, let us carry forward her spirit of love, her commitment to family, and her unwavering faith. She leaves behind a legacy that will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of knowing her. Ann's light will shine brightly in the hearts of her family and friends for generations to come.
