Mrs. Ann Whitfield, 89, of Calhoun, Georgia died Wednesday, February 1, 2023 following a period of declining health.. She was born on January 8, 1934, in Calhoun, Georgia, the daughter of the late Jess and Esty Dobson Stewart. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Rev. Leroy Whitfield; brothers and sisters-in-law, J.C Stewart (Herlene), Joe Stewart (Ruth), and Kenneth Stewart (Ann); sisters and brothers-in-law, Dimple Fuquea (Banks), Marjorie Davis, Martha Owens (Richard), Tommie Sutherland (Dallas), Jane McBee, and Louise Stewart; brother-in-law, Paul Mealor; son-in-law, Tolbert Gallman; sister-in-law, Bonnie Ross.
Ann was a member of New Zion Baptist Church.
She is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Teresa Whitfield Gallman and Greta Whitfield VanDyke (Ronnie); sisters and brother-in-law, Dora Dean Mealor and Brenda Rogers (Ronnie); grandchildren, Taylor Gallman and Seth VanDyke; step grandchildren, Randy Gallman (Karen), Cindy Henderson (Jeff), Tammy Gallman, and Brooks Gallman;; brothers-in-law, Raymond Ross and Charlie McBee; several nieces and nephews also survive.
The family will receive friends on Friday, February 3, 2023 from 12 noon until 2:00 pm at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home.
The funeral will follow the visitation at 2:00 pm from the Chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Taylor Gallman, Rev. Lamar Bearden and Rev. Clifford Free officiating. Burial will follow in Chandler Cemetery. Pallbearers serving include, Chan Ross, Ronnie Rogers, Randy Gallman, Brooks Gallman, Michael Stewart, and Ronnie VanDyke.
