Anna Althouse Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Roseboro Stradling Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc. - Denver on Jun. 20, 2025.
Anna Althouse, l00 years loved, passed away Friday, June 6, 2025, at Ephrata Manor. Born and raised in Fritztown, Anna was the daughter of the late William and Sally K. (Lorah) Ruoss and the loving wife to William Clyde Althouse until his passing in 2002. She and her husband enjoyed many bus trips and cruises together.
A very talented seamstress, she worked at Leiningers, HandH Garment, and Kinder Manufacturing. She was part of a knit club which included friends and family of the area. She also volunteered at the Denver Fair for many years and won ribbons for various crafts that she entered.
She was a member of St. John's UCC in Denver and participated with the Men's Brotherhood steak sandwich sale, was a member of the Women's Guild and volunteered with Meals on Wheels.
If you had the privilege to be in Anna's presence, she was always willing to have fun; from riding motorcycle with her son to blowing straw paper at people in restaurants. She was an inspiration to many people. Anna enjoyed taking care of her home and family and friends were always welcome.
Anna is survived by a son, Curtis Althouse and Susie Riegel who is like a daughter to him, both of Denver, a sister, Sarah Bentz of Wernersville, and various nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter-in-law, Nancy Althouse, and her siblings, Edward, Mamie, Harry, Mary, Lily, Ida, Edna, Charles, Samuel, James, and Nancy.
A celebration of life will be held on July 20, 2025, at 1:00 at St John's UCC.
In lieu of flowers, contributions are appreciated to St. John's UCC, 659 S. 4th Street, Denver, Pa. 17517.
The family would like to express a deep appreciation to the staff at Ephrata Manor for all they did for her.
