Anna Jean Autry, born on June 22, 1948, in
Tuttle, Oklahoma, peacefully passed away on March 11, 2024, in
Norman, Oklahoma. She was the beloved daughter of Wilburn and Doris Davison.
Anna was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Lonnie, and her dear brothers, Reford, and Jimmy. She is survived by her sister Karen Davison of Pauls Valley, loving daughter, Sherri Autry of
Norman, Oklahoma, and her son Clint Autry and wife Kerri Autry of
Wayne, Oklahoma.
Her legacy lives on through her cherished grandchildren: Michael Archambo and wife Rylee, Justin Chacon and wife Destiny, Shania Autry, Miranda Whitson and husband Kyle, Nathan Autry and wife Dusty, Leilund Autry, Zyan Autry, and her precious great-grandchildren: Brenley, Xavier, C.J., Emme, Henri, Baylor, Ezekiel, and Hudson.
Anna was known for her kind, loving, and giving nature, coupled with a Christian heart. She was fiercely protective of her family and shared a special bond with her late husband, Lonnie, whom she had been married to for 42 years. Together, they enjoyed trips and dining at their favorite restaurant, Cracker Barrel.
An industrious homemaker and hard worker, Anna provided unwavering support to her children. Her joy stemmed from family gatherings, and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her pride and joy. She was a pillar of strength and a loving presence as a wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Anna's first love was her faith and her Lord and Savior.
Anna dedicated 33 years of her life to teaching at Robinson St. Christian School and worked at Holiday Heights Nursing Home. She was actively involved in Robinson St. Baptist Church in Norman and found solace in reading her Bible and listening to gospel music.
In her spare time, Anna enjoyed working in the yard, gardening, and cooking. She was famous for her meatloaf, homemade pizza, and enchiladas. Her granddaughter Miranda cherished Anna's peanut butter cookies, and cheesecake. Anna was an avid Oklahoma Sooners fan and loved watching westerns, Andy Griffith, and Three's Company. She had a passion for collecting wind chimes and was a huge Elvis Presley fan, with one of the highlights of her life being two visits to Graceland. She also had a deep love for family dogs Cotton, Buddy, Smokey, Tiger, Baxter, Jack and Toby.
Anna Jean Autry touched the hearts of many and will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her memory will forever live on in the cherished moments shared with her family and friends.
