Anna May Boyer, 75, of Bourbon, MO, passed away on Monday, July 7, 2025, at Missouri Baptist Hospital, Sullivan. She was born on April 22, 1950, in Long Beach, CA, to James and Birdie May Eldridge.
Anna was born in Long Beach, California and as a child her family lived in several places in California, Oregon, and Missouri. Life was on the move until on August 16, 1974 when she married the love of her life, Roger Boyer. The family soon settled in the Bourbon/Sullivan area and became a part of the community. Anna dedicated herself to raising her children while working at the Sullivan Hospital. She loved horses and her farm fresh eggs, She and Roger adored the simple farm life.
Life was about family and faith. They became dedicated members at the Bourbon Assembly of God. Truly their faith and service changed the direction of their family and gave them an eternal legacy. They were very active in the ministry of the church especially driving the church bus and working with the youth of the church. Her "Delight" dessert was famous and she would often prepare "Angel" eggs for church potluck, she wouldn't hear of bringing "deviled" eggs to church! Family was a priority for both Roger and Anna. Their huge family gatherings were not to be missed. They would make a yearly pilgrimage to Eureka Springs, Arkansas for the outdoor passion play, loading up the church bus with family, church members, youth groups and friends, many times camping at Lake Leatherwood. Roger and Anna did everything possible to build strong relationships with their grandchildren, at times some of the grandkids would stay for weeks over the summer or Roger and Anna would travel to wherever their children were stationed to spend quality time together.
Anna was a fierce protector of her children and grandchildren serving, loving and doing whatever possible to support and encourage them. Anna exuded joy, when she entered a room her laughter was as loud as her clothing choice. Losing Roger in 2012 was the challenge of her life, however, because of their deep faith in Jesus Christ, we can be assured that once again they are reunited and reaping a harvest of a life dedicated to Christ.
Anna is survived by her children, James Boyer and his wife, Laurie, of Bourbon, MO and Phillina Jarvis and her husband, Nathan, of Longmont, CO; her grandchildren: David Windle II, Anna Windle, Justyce VanWolput and her husband, Austin, Nathan Jarvis Jr and his wife, Ashley; her great-grandchildren: David, Dale, Winston, Mia, Mikey, Mason, Marceline, Naila, Aurora, Lellan; two sisters, Sher Hardy and Peggy Love; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roger Boyer, her parents James and Birdie Eldridge, her daughter, Scarlett Windle, her brothers Bo and Paul Eldridge, her sister Brenda, and life long best friend Marty Jones.
