Anna Carney

Anna Carney, age 90, died on Tuesday, September 30, 2025 at her residence. Born in Brooklyn, NY, Anna is a daughter of the late Edward and Hannah Harte. Anna was a member of St. Ephrem's Catholic Church in Brooklyn, NY. A woman of deep faith, Anna lived her life with kindness, warmth, and devotion. She worked in administration at Maimonides Hospital in Brooklyn. She also gave her time generously as a Den Mother for the Cub Scouts. She never spoke a harsh word about anyone and was known for her beautiful blue eyes, radiant smile, and unwavering love for those around her. She truly lived for her family, cherishing every moment with them. She shared a special bond with her sisters, treasured her daily talks with her best friend, Viola, and held her friends and community close to her heart. Anna is preceded in death by her husband, James Patrick Carney, children, Edward and Patrick Carney, siblings, Margaret Collins and her husband Charlie, Pat Ulrich, and Edward Harte. Survivors include her children, John Carney (Connie), Jimmy Carney (Karen), Annie Smith (Tommy); grandchildren, Hannah Hynes (Patrick), Morgan Shaw (Chris), James Straub, Mike, Mariecon Marco, Moraine, Rakelle, Kelly Smith (Vin); great grandchildren, Sully, Fallon, Conor, Rylie-Rose; sisters, Noreen Kline, Catherine Harte; brother in law, Frank Ulrich, and many nieces and nephews.
