Anna May Carriker, 87, passed away on December 30, 2022, surrounded by family. She was born on August 18, 1935 to Thomas DeNicolo and Mary (Spennacchio) DeNicolo in Chicago, Illinois.
Anne was married for sixty-six years to Don Carriker. Anne and Don met while she was playing piano at the USO in Chicago, where she volunteered her time. They were united in marriage on June 30, 1956, in Chicago, Illinois. The marriage was blessed with five children. Anne loved being a mother and enjoyed being at home with her children. She spent most of her time preparing meals and making sure that everyone was well taken care of. As the family grew, she enjoyed big family gatherings, cooking for all her family and playing games together. Anne enjoyed a variety of music and played the piano at home when she had the opportunity. Anne was a very social person and also enjoyed interacting with all types of animals. She was a very faithful member of the Catholic Church; her faith was paramount in her life.
She is survived by her husband M. Don Carriker Sr., son Nick Carriker and wife Mickie (Thailand), daughter Marguerite Carriker (Fordland), daughter Alicia Williamson and husband Jim (Chadwick), son Don Jr. Carriker and wife Dawn (Rogersville), son Nathan Carriker and wife Pam (Texas); nineteen grand-children and fourteen great-grandchildren; and sister Gloria DeNicolo (Sr. Ann DeNicolo)
She is preceded in death by her parents Thomas and Mary DeNicolo.
In Lieu of flowers, family would like memorial donations to be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on January 4, 2023, at St. Joseph The Worker Catholic Church in Ozark. Burial will immediatly follow the Funeral Mass at Missouri Veterans Cemetery. Visitation will be held at 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:30 p.m., on January 3, 2023, at Adams Funeral Home in Ozark.
