Anna Combs, a beloved matriarch, passed away on February 2, 2025, in Dayton, Ohio, at the age of 93. Born on September 22, 1931, in Romania, Anna's life was marked by resilience and devotion to her family. She came to the United States alone after her homeland was ravaged by World War II, overcoming immense challenges to create a life filled with love and laughter. She became a proud U.S. citizen, embracing her new home with gratitude and commitment.
Anna was known for her unwavering dedication to her family, always ensuring their well-being was her priority. Her caring nature was evident in every interaction, as she sought to nurture the bonds that held her family together. Her humor brought joy to those around her, making her a cherished presence in their lives.
She is survived by her loving children, Becky Roark and her husband Ron, Ken Combs and his wife Helen, Yvonne Reece and her husband Bill, Bobby Combs and his wife Cindy, and Wayne Combs and his wife Kim. Anna was a proud grandmother to Randy Roark and his wife Emilee, Jennifer Shade and her husband Justin, Rachel Tyree and her husband Darrin, Ken Combs Jr., Josh Combs, Brian Combs, and James Combs and his wife Crystal, granddaughter Cynthia Combs, as well as numerous great-grandchildren and cousins. Special mention is made of her dear cousins, Monica and Dave Esselstein and Elizabeth Sieber, whose bonds remained significant throughout her life.
Anna was preceded in death by her husband, David Combs, who will be lovingly remembered alongside her.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated staff at Stonespring of Vandalia and Ohio Valley Hospice of Dayton for their exceptional care during Anna's final days.
Visitation for Anna Combs will take place on February 7, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home located at 3940 Kettering Blvd, Kettering, OH 45439. Following the visitation, a funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM at the same location. Anna will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery in Dayton.
Anna's remarkable life, characterized by her strength, kindness, and sense of humor, will be lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
