Anna DellaGrotta Obituary

DellaGROTTA, ANNA of Burbank Street, Cranston, who would have celebrated her 100th birthday in February, passed away January 8, 2013. She was the wife of the late John DellaGrotta. Born in North Providence, she was the daughter of the late Angelo and Assunta (Marcello) Rotondo. Anna was a press operator for Kenney Manufacturing for many years before retiring in 1975. She was a communicant of St. Matthew Church and enjoyed gardening and yard work. She was the mother of Joseph DellaGrotta and his wife Joan and grandmother of John and Maryann DellaGrotta. She was also the sister of the late Margaret Palumbo, Tillie Ferrazza, Evelyn and Lucy Coletti and Frank and Arthur Rotondo. Her funeral will be held Friday at 8:45am from the ROMANO FUNERAL HOME, 627 Union Avenue, Providence followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Matthew Church, 1299 Elmwood Avenue, Cranston. Burial to follow in St. Ann's Cemetery. VISITATION THURSDAY 4-7 PM romanofuneralhome.com.

i didn't know anna but i've lived in the neighborhood for 35 years and always saw her sitting on the front steps in her chair, and more recently in her rocking chair looking out the window almost every day and she just seemed so sweet. i still always look for her when i drive by even now. my thoughts condolences to her family.
