Funeral services celebrating the life of Anna Joyce Simpson, 93, of Calhoun, Louisiana, will be held at 2:30 P.M., Saturday, January 3, 2025, at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe.
Visitation will be held in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home West Monroe, from 12:00PM until 2:00 P.M. before services.
Mrs. Simpson was born October 26, 1932, in West Monroe, Louisiana and passed away on December 26, 2025, in Bossier City, Louisiana.
Anna Joyce was an avid golfer who spent many weekends on the courses at Highland Park Country Club or Pine Hills Country Club with her husband and friends. She was meticulous and organized in everything she did, skills that helped her thrive as a secretary at Louisiana Power and Light and as a real estate agent with Polly Anderson. She enjoyed lunching, traveling, and shopping with her friends and family. Anna Joyce loved keeping up with her grandchildren’s lives and activities. She was their biggest supporter and cheerleader in whatever they did and traveled to watch them no matter the location. She was a daughter, a wife, a mother, a Mimi and a friend to so many who loved her so well.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank Hunter Eyre and Gladys LaPearl Eyre; husband, Audrey Clyde Williams, husband, Johnnie V. Simpson, and her brother, William Preston Eyre.
Those left to love and cherish her memory are her daughter, Ann Williams Long and husband Brandon, grandchildren, Peyton and Landry Long, stepson, Johnny Simpson, stepdaughter, Jamie Rawlinson (Jesse), sister-in-law, Phyllis Eyre, nieces; Charlotte Naff, Cynthia Gale Eyre, Laura Jane Eyre Koursans, and nephews, Billy Eyre, and Stephen Horne (Kathy).
Pallbearers will be Brandon Long, Tal Simpson, Jesse Rawlinson IV, Johnny Simpson, Luke Farrar, and Peyton Long.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Heart Association and the American Cancer Society.
