Mr. Charles Eugene Avery

Mr. Charles Eugene Avery, age 85, passed away Saturday, February 7, 2026, in Hot Springs, Arkansas. He was born in Calhoun, Louisiana on January 7th, 1941, at home by a country doctor that made house calls. His father was Joel Herbert Avery, and his mother was Jenny Orlean (Doyal) Avery. His father passed in 1944, and his mother passed in 1984.

Charles worked delivering bread for 15 years and spent the rest of his working life in Auto Parts sales and delivery. He loved to work on his cars and do woodworking. He was known as a man of many talents. Mr. Avery would help anyone that needed help. Charles was a man of faith. He was a member of Mena Freewill Baptist Church and loved the Lord and his church family.

Mr. Charles Eugene Avery is preceded in death by 6 brothers, 5 sisters, one son Andy Avery, as well as by his beloved wife of 40 years, Polly. He is survived by his daughters, Penny Everett and husband Eddie, Teresa Smith, and Donna Avery; stepdaughters, Elaine Rea and Sherry Washam; son, Kenny Avery and wife Beth, his best friend Jo Ann Lee; as well as by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Services for Mr. Charles Eugene Avery will be held on Saturday, February 14, 2026, at 3:00 p.m., at Ansley Cemetery, in Ruston, Louisiana. The services will be held under the direction of Beasley-Wood Funeral Home.
