Theda Joyce Springer

Theda Joyce Barton (Springer), 87, entered the presence of her Lord and Savior on February 25, 2026. She was born on August 23, 1938, in Shallowater, TX and made her home in Cove, AR.

Theda was a devoted Christian who loved her Lord and Savior with all her heart. Her faith guided her life, shaped her character, and anchored her family. She lived with the quiet assurance that God was in control and found strength and comfort in His Word and Promises.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John B. Springer and Rebecca Springer (Hasty); her loving husband, Walter Darrell Barton; her sons, Dwayne Brock and Billy Russell Barton (Rusty); four brothers, Louis Springer, J.B. Springer, Billy Springer, Herman Springer and three sisters, Bernice Ashby, Louise Johnson, Maurine Martin; and her dear friend Myrna Riddle.

She is survived by a loving family who will carry on her legacy of faith: one sister Mary Jo Martin; her children Lynette House and husband Dan; Dennis Barton and wife Dawn; James Barton and wife Alicia; Garrett Barton and wife Bailey. Her grandchildren - Sean House and wife Kendra; DeAnne Fairless and husband Ben; Sarah Ventris and partner Rob McClatchie; Dean Barton and wife Katie; Cortney Rhodes and husband Bobby; Billy Barton and wife Erin; and Brianna Dull and husband Winston - were a constant source of joy and pride. She was also blessed with eleven great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Theda worked faithfully for many years as a bookkeeper and later dedicated herself to caring for children, a calling that reflected her servant's heart. She believed deeply in the importance of family, faith, and loving others well.

Though her family grieves her absence, they rejoice in the promise of eternal life and take comfort in knowing she is now at peace in the arms of her Savior. "Well, done good and faithful servant… enter thou into the joy of thy Lord." Matthew 25:23.

Her life was a blessing, her memory a treasure, and her faith a legacy that will live on for generations.

Graveside services for Mrs. Theda Joyce Barton (Springer) will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, February 28, 2026, at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Cove, Arkansas.
