Anna Mae Gatz, nee Asaro, age 89, beloved wife of the late Paul, and the late Larry John Wernimont; loving mother of Christine Strejc, Laura Wernimont, John Wernimont, Jeff (Jean) Wernimont, and Lawrence (Jodi) Wernimont and the late Leon Edward Wernimont; Cherished grandmother of Eve (Eric) Wiese, and Gretchan Maiorana, Harley, Scott, and Nicholas, Riley, and Jack Wernimont; great-grandmother of Zachary Maiorana, dear sister in law of Ron Wernimont.
Our mother was a very caring, sweet, kind, loving, hardworking strong woman. She was always so happy to see one of us when we would visit her. She had a very good sense of humor. She never thought she was a strong person but with all she went through her whole life she was extremely strong. We will miss her cooking, she made a delicious homemade pasta sauce that was an old family recipe, we have never had a better sauce. She made homemade potato salad which we all loved and along with the best fried chicken. She was a true Italian mother always loving to be in the kitchen. You could not leave her home until you were stuffed and always gave you some to take home.
Our mother was guided by her love of God thru Jesus Christ. We all are so blessed to have experienced this relationship with her as we were raised to believe. She would get us all ready on Sunday for Sunday School and Church. Throughout our lives we all watched and learned by example.
Our mother always loved her children so much it was always about family.
When you would visit she would always ask how you are doing. She would always ask about her grandchildren and her great grandchild.
Love you mother,
Finally at peace
Amen.
