Anna Hines Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Martin Funeral & Cremation - Waldron on Dec. 31, 2024.
Anna J. Hines, age 86, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 29, 2024 in Bartow, FL.
Born April 2, 1938, in Waldron, Arkansas to Carl and Josie Walker, Anna was brought into this world with a bright future full of love and faithful service ahead of her. At the age of 9, Anna heard the testimony of a missionary that inspired her with hopes of one day bringing the gospel to Africa when she grew up. Those hopes were met with multiple missionary journeys to Liberia, West Africa, as well as years serving in churches across America before coming home to the Waldron area and serving at Mt. Moriah Church, alongside her husband Rev. Del Jester, who preceded her in death. With her second husband, Rev. David Hines, who has also gone to be with the Lord, they continued their ministry at Mt. Moriah. Anna owned and operated Little Lamb Preschool, caring for children in her community. She also lovingly provided care and comfort for many ailing friends and family in their final days. All those who knew her and witnessed her tender heart for God and man would readily proclaim that her life embodied the words of our Lord when he said, "It is more blessed to give than to receive." Acts 20:35.
Along with her two husbands, Anna is also preceded in death by her brother Jerry Walker. She is survived by her two sons, Johnathan Jester and wife Alicia, and Kevin Jester, both of Bartow, Florida; two sisters, Jo Frost and Irene Bartsch, five grandchildren, Johnathan Jester (Staci), Christian Jester (Meghan), Anastasia Phan (Eric), John Goss (Madi), and Katie Goss (Dylan); and great-granddaughter, Emerie Jester.
Family will receive friends on Friday, January 3, 2025, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., at the Martin Funeral & Cremation Chapel in Waldron, Arkansas. A service for Anna will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at 2 p.m. at the Mt. Moriah Church in Waldron, Arkansas. Interment will follow at the Lamb Cemetery.
