Anna Lea Baxter Barber Hobbs, 92 passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 25, 2025 surrounded by her family at Onslow Memorial Hospital. Born April 19, 1933 in Kanawha, WV. To Otis Baxter and Crystal G. Westfall Baxter Harding Jones. Graduated from Elkview High School in Charleston, WV in 1951. Preceded in death by her husbands; James C. Barber and Durwood E. Hobbs, sister Jean Pauley of Orlando FL, Franklin (Buzzy) Baxter of Charleston, WV and Grover C. Baxter of Richlands, NC. She loved gardening, flowers, canning vegetables, playing the piano, family, traveling, especially to Charleston WV. So thankful she was able to enjoy our 10th Thanksgiving week at Surf City, NC with family and friends. She loved her church, Solid Rock Baptist Church in Potters Hill, NC and the family is thankful for all the visits, messages, cards, calls and prayers during her recent sickness. She will always be remembered by her cheese biscuits and playing with her grandkids.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, December 30, 2025 from Jones Funeral Home in Richlands at 12:00 Noon with Reverend Rodney Humphrey officiating. Burial will follow at Onslow Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service.

Survivors include her son; Carlton H. Barber (Andrea) of Atlantic Beach ,FL, her daughter; Valeria Barber Cox (Kenith Baysden) of Richlands, NC and bonus daughter; Rose Hobbs Dail (Jr.) of Swansboro NC. Grandchildren; Brandon Barber Elliott (Ali) of Holly Springs, NC, Brooke C. Rayburn (Jason) of Fayetteville, NC, Paul Campilongo of St. John, FL, Candace Cox Batchelor (Jerry) of Richlands, NC, Ryan Barber (Jenna) of Atlantic Beach, FL, Ryan Dail of Swansboro, NC and Jessica Dowling of Fuquay Varina, NC. Great Grandchildren; Peyton T. Debeaumont, Beckett Rayburn, Martha Brice Elliott, Allison Elliott, Brinkley Elliott, Brenyn Rayburn, Estie Rose Barber, Jerry Anthony Batchelor, III, Olivia, Luke and Annabelle Dowling and Addison Dail. Her sister in law; Sandra L. Baxter, nieces; Judy Gore, Lynda Guthrie, Becky Baxter Vermillion, Lisa Baxter Neeley, Kathy Baxter, Dians Lightner, Donna Pauley and nephew; Gary Baxter.
