Anna Lewis Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral & Cremation Service - North Chapel on Dec. 16, 2025.
Anna M. Lewis, 98, of Marion, Indiana, went to be with the Lord at 3:16 am on Sunday, December 14, 2025. She was born on May 21, 1927, in Marion to Claude and Dottie (Babb) Carmichael. Anna married Robert L. Lewis, who preceded her in death.
Anna attended Sweetser High School and worked as an inspector at Foster-Forbes for more than 30 years before retiring. A devoted member of 8th Street Wesleyan Church, she was known for her incredible cooking and baking-her pies were a staple at every church dinner. She loved gardening, canning, singing with her sisters, and could fix just about anything. Anna also cleaned offices as a side job, enjoyed reading as an avid book lover, and was always ready to care for family members in need.
For the past 11 years, Anna lived with her daughter, Cinda, and passed away at home surrounded by her family. The family extends heartfelt thanks to special family friend Jo Meyer, the team at Stillwater Hospice, and Anna's two granddaughters who are nurses, Ashley and Erica, for their compassionate care.
Anna is survived by three daughters: Cinda Vermilion of Marion, IN; Linda Wilson of VA; and Beth (Dean) Caudill of Longs, SC; two grandsons: Chris (Mia) Wilson and Jared (Elisha) Caudill; four granddaughters: Ashley (Josh) Collins, Erica (Shon) McCain, Nicole Persinger, and Leigh Ann Caudill; 13 great-grandchildren; sister: Marguerite Wimmer; and sister-in-law: Judy Carmichael.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; five brothers: David (Marge), Jim (Marge), Raymond (Jackie), Harold (Jennie), and Kenny Carmichael; three sisters: Ruth (Raymond) Cox, Margaret Bozell, and Catherine (Gene) Carl; brother-in-law: John Wimmer; great-granddaughter: Ava Pagoria; and son-in-law: Larry Wilson.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Sunday, December 21, 2025, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral & Cremation Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.
A Celebration of Life will take place at 11:30 am on Monday, December 22, 2025, at North Chapel with Rev. Dan Van Cise officiating. Burial will follow at Grant Memorial Park.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Stillwater Hospice, 5910 Homestead Rd., Fort Wayne, IN 46814.
