Anna "Cookie" Lee Cochran Long, 84, of Stanford, KY passed away on Saturday, November 1, 2025 at University of Kentucky Hospital in Lexington. Born on October 20, 1941 in Danville, KY to the late William Davis Cochran and Frances Hatfield Cochran. She is the widow to the late Richard Irvin "Tob" Long.
Anna leaves behind a legacy of love, support, and perseverance that will continue to inspire those who knew her. She was a passionate gardener and an avid reader, who found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She served many roles in her family, along with being a farmer, who would help Tob when the cows needed to be milked and the tobacco needed to be set. She was a woman of substance, a woman of strength, and most importantly, a woman of heart. Ann was known as a wonderful cook. She loved to cook her family their favorite meals, her specialties included her famous green beans, chocolate pie, soup beans and chocolate fudge at Christmas.
Survivors include two sisters, Sandy Brown of Henderson, NV and Jean Cartmill of Stanford, KY; two sisters-in-law, Gail Cochran of Campbellsville, KY and Dottie Cochran of Glendora, CA; special nieces and nephews, Kala Cartmill, Karmin Davis, Rick Fisher, Melissa Khawaja, Jackson Davis, Mason Davis, Colby Meck and Toby Meck; and a host of special nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Richard Irvin "Tob" Long; parents, Davis and Frances Cochran; daughter, Cynthia "Cindy" Lynn Long; and two brothers, Donald Cochran and Butch Cochran.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 5, 2025 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Spurlin Funeral Home in Stanford, KY. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 6, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Buffalo Springs Cemetery in Stanford.
Active Pallbearers are Matthew Kijak, Larry Joe Long, Rick Fisher, Ethan Jones, Fred Estes, William Brown and Albert Avalos.
Honorary Pallbearers are Jackson Davis, Mason Davis, Colby Meck, Toby Meck and Brian McMullen.
