Anna Martens

Funeral services for Anna Martens, age 90 of Seminole, Texas, will be held Tuesday, October 21, 2025 at Old Colony Mennonite Church at 2:00 p.m. with Bishop Peter Jensen officiating. Burial will follow at Gaines County Cemetery. All services are under the direction of Boyer Funeral Home.

Anna Martens was born in Mexico on July 23, 1935 to Maria (Klassen) and Frank Schmett. Mrs. Martens was a loving woman who enjoyed nothing more than the company of others. She could spark up a conversation with anyone and was always on the lookout for a new relationship to build. Anna was a devoted homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her friends and family. She was heavily involved with her church community and in her free time she loved to sit down and read a good book.

Anna Martens passed away, October 18, 2025 at Sunland Retirement Center in Seminole. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Henry Martens, two sons, one daughter, three brothers, six sisters, and three grandchildren. She is survived by five sons, David Martens and wife Margaret, Frank Martens and wife Eva, John Martens and wife Helen, Peter Martens and wife Helen, all of Seminole and Henry Martens and wife Susan of Mexico; two daughters, Kathy Dyck and husband Abe and Mary Letkeman and husband Peter, both of Seminole; one brother, Frank Schmett and wife Katarina of Mexico; 40 grandchildren; 106 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren.
