Anna Lee (Bain) Quail, who cheerfully embodied kindness and Christian love, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, August 24 at Tristar Summit Medical Center, of congestive heart failure. She was 87.

Anna was born October 3, 1937 to the late Forrest Russell Bain and Rachel Lee (Combs) Bain. She was the second born of seven children, and the only girl.

After graduating from Harrison High School in Cincinnati in 1955, she attended the University of Cincinnati to study nursing. It was there she met the love of her life, Robert Keith Quail, and they married in December 1956. After the birth of their children Cathleen and Michael, they relocated to the Hermitage/Mt. Juliet area in 1971.

Anna worked in the insurance industry, most recently with CNA insurance until her retirement.

She was a lifelong member of the United Methodist faith, and spent many happy years serving with her church family at Hermitage United Methodist Church.

She was an avid knitter and enjoyed creating prayer shawls to comfort those in need. She delighted in visiting with anyone who needed a prayer, or some kind words and laughs.

After the loss of her beloved husbanding 2008, she found great comfort and joy in helping elderly friends who didn’t have family nearby.

She was preceded in death by her husband Keith Quail, her brothers Frederick Bain, William Bain, Charles Bain, Carl (Kathie) Bain and David (Linda) Bain.

She is survived by daughter Cathleen (Quail) McBride (Kenneth) of Watertown, her son Michael Quail (Sherry) of Carroll, OH, brother Forrest Russel Bain (Bonnie) of Dothan, AL, grandchildren Garrett Keith Quail Gregory (McKenzie) of Gallatin, Zebulun McBride of Hermitage, AnnaRuth McBride of Watertown, and Miranda McBride of Greenville, SC; great grandsons Braxton Gregory and Beckham Gregory of Gallatin, sister-in-law Jorgianna (Larsen) Bain of New Mexico, so many nieces and nephews, special friend Lisa Franks of Hermitage, and the kind and caring staff at The McKendree who were delighted by her funloving spirit, and cared for her in her final days with so much kindness and love. Special thanks to Jane Harrison, RN of Alive Hospice, who was a guiding light in difficult times.

Anna wished to be cremated, and a celebration of life and memorial service will be held at Hermitage United Methodist Church, Saturday October 4, Visitation beginning at Noon and Service to follow at 12:30 PM.
