Anna Revel Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Fletcher Funeral Home on May 30, 2024.
Anna Lou (Hale) Revel, sadly left this world on May 23, 2024, in Mission Viejo, CA. At the time of her passing, she was 100 years old.
Ann was born near Sterling, on May 16, 1924. She attended Elgin schools until her senior year when her father moved the family to Sterling. Ann graduated from Sterling High School in 1942. She married John Benjamin (J.B.) Revel in 1946 after his return from WWII. They lived in several places in Oklahoma and California, finally spending their retirement years back in Sterling. They were blessed with three sons.
Ann was an impeccable seamstress and loved making things beautiful through decorating, gardening, and fashion. Throughout her life, she left every place she lived in better and more beautiful than she found it. Her fried chicken, Thanksgiving stuffing and chocolate pies were legendary. Her greatest joy in life was being a wife, mother and grandmother.
Ann is survived by her sister, Lola Stottmann, of Lawton, and her sons and daughter-in-laws: retired Maj. Johnny and Vicky Revel of Lusby, MD; Denise Barrett of Pacific Grove, CA; and Glenn and Peggy Revel of Mission Viejo, CA; five grandchildren: Katherine (Greg) Christopher of Woodstock, GA; Lt. Col. Richard (Melissa) Revel of Camp Atterbury, IN; Jennifer (Greg) Dutton of Temecula, CA; Rebecca Revel of Laguna Nigel, CA; and Jaclyn (J.D.) Baranger of Mission Viejo, CA; 16 great-grandchildren: Kiera, Kylah, Kurren, Alyssa, Grant, Justin, Alyssa, Candice, John, William, Elijah, Mackinsey, Brinley, Dewey, Joshua, and Julie. Additionally, she is survived by many beloved nieces and nephews and their families.
She is preceded in death by her parents Corkhill and Ethel Hale, her husband J.B. and her son, Dennis Revel, as well as her siblings Harlan Hale, Mary Smith, Jo Beryl Sawin, Jack Hale, Bobby Hale and Elizabeth Snyder, as well as many beloved brother and sister-in-laws.
A celebration of life will be at 2 p.m., Sunday, June 9, 2024, at Elgin-Fletcher Funeral Home, 410 W Cole Avenue, Fletcher. She will be buried alongside her husband and her son in the Sterling Cemetery.
