Anna Rogers Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Gray Memorial Chapel & Crematory on Dec. 16, 2025.
Anna "Kay" Rogers passed away peacefully on Saturday morning, December 13, 2025, at Autumn Lane Health and Rehabilitation. She was 71 years old.
Kay was born on September 9, 1954, in Jacksonville, North Carolina, to the late Walter and Elizabeth Brady Mitchum. She was a proud graduate of Central High School, Class of 1972.
Kay had a joyful spirit and a love for life. She especially enjoyed dancing and playing bingo, activities that reflected her fun-loving and social nature. She will be remembered as funny and friendly, faith-filled, enthusiastic, and joyful. Kay's kind heart, caring nature, and deep compassion for others touched everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.
She lived her life for her family and loved them dearly. Kay had a kind heart and lived a simple life where love was the most important thing to her. What she leaves behind is the example of how big her heart was-always accepting, loving others, and serving as a peacemaker. She was full of laughter and will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, and sister.
Kay is survived by her two sons: Benjamin Rogers (April), with whom she shared six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; and Christopher Rogers (Michelle), with whom she shared five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers Walter D. Mitchum and Bruce Mitchum (Linda), and her sister Beth Potts.
Kay's warmth, laughter, and gentle spirit will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by her family, friends, and all who knew her.
