Anna Marie Samples, born in Memphis, Tennessee, came into this world with a heart full of love, a mind full of stories, and a mouth that never held back. She passed peacefully at Baptist Desoto, leaving behind a family she loved fiercely, and a lifetime of laughter.
Anna wore many titles in her beautiful life - Daughter, Sister, Friend, Wife, Mama, and her personal favorite, Nana. If you knew Marie, you knew her love was big, her opinions were loud, and her stories could go on long enough to require snacks and maybe a bathroom break.
She lived for her family - her greatest joy and proudest accomplishment. She leaves behind her devoted husband, William Kelly Samples, who always knew to just let her say her piece (whether he agreed or not). Her children, James Michael Clemons (Tracy), who's most cherished memory is having the honor of baptizing his mother, Lisa Marie Waldrip (Thomas Guy), who is most thankful and full of gratitude for her mother taking care of her children when she was unable to, and her stepdaughter, Kelly Michelle Samples who was more than grateful to Marie for being Nana to her children and loving them unconditionally.
Marie has a whole crew of grandkids she adored Gracie Waldrip, Peyton Waldrip, Khloe Waldrip, Sydney Waldrip, Harper Waldrip, John Parvin Clemons, Duke Clemons, Sienna Dawson, Wyatt Dawson, Aiden Delaney, Bentley Walker, Daniel Robbins, and Nichole Robbins. Two lucky great-grandbabies, Banks Robbins and Lillie Owens.
She is preceded in death by her parents - Flora Lane Poole, Leroy Routh, and Whitley Perryman - along with her beloved sister Judy Sanford.
Marie's life was proof that love can be loud, messy, and hilarious. Her legacy lives on in every story we tell, every laugh we share, and every stubborn, opinionated, beautiful woman in her family.
