Anna M. (DeRosa) Shurtleff 87 passed away peacefully and surrounded by her loving family on September 1, 2025. She was the wife of the late Donald J. Shurtleff Sr. they had been married for 53 years prior to his passing. Born in Providence, Anna was the daughter of the late John and Marion (Ventriglia) DeRosa.

Anna travelled extensively with her husband as a marine's wife. She was a camping enthusiast and loved to bring her beloved Dachshund's with her. She had a fun collection of Dachshund memorabilia because she loved them so much. They were her "babies".

She loved being Italian and was happiest cooking with her family, it could be meals, baking, canning or a project with her grandkids, Anna was a great cheerful partner to have. Anna enjoyed everything about gathering her family and friends around the table for music, food, games, and especially celebrating the holidays.

Anna loved nature, feeding and watching birds. She liked to go on small hikes and canoe rides and end the day around the fire pit watching the sun go down.

Anna liked to spend her time reading and listening to music. She was a huge Patriots fan and enjoyed watching the games with her family.

Anna is survived by her loving children, Donald J. Shurtleff Jr. and his wife Christine, Robin A. Nunes and her husband Donald, her adoring grandchildren Elizabeth Redin and her Fiancé Jay Gabriele, Jillian and Ian Shurtleff. Eric and Sara Nunes as well as several nieces and nephews. She was the sister-in-law of Irene DeRosa and the sister of the late Dominic DeRosa.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, September 5, 2025, at 11:00 am at the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 301 South County Trail, Exeter. The family asks that anyone wishing to attend meet at the Administration building at 10:45 a.m. In lieu of flowers donations in Anna's name may be made to Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, Kansas 66675-8516
