Anna M. Spece

1933 - 2025

Anna Marie Spece, 91, of Natrona Heights, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2025, at Platinum Ridge Nursing Home, Brackenridge, where she was a resident for several years. She was born March 16, 1933, in Pittsburgh, to the late Walter and Anna (Plusk) Rekasie. Anna lived most of her life in Natrona Heights. She was a payroll clerk for Sears in Pittsburgh and Montgomery Wards in New Kensington. Anna was a member of Guardian Angels Parish, Most Blessed Sacrament Campus, Natrona Heights, and Christian Mothers. She was a graduate of Allegheny High School, Pittsburgh and enjoyed camping, gardening, bowling, and polka dancing on Saturdays at the Acme club, with her husband. Anna especially enjoyed her boys all coming back to spend the holidays together. Survivors include her sons, John (Mary) Spece of Lower Burrell, Andrew J. (Christine) Spece Jr. of Natrona Heights, Thomas (Laura) Spece of Evansville, IN, and Michael Spece of Natrona Heights; grandsons, Jim Spece of Japan, Adam (Sandy) Spece of TX, Michael Zeiler of Natrona Heights, Matthew (Jeyling) Zeiler of Nicaragua, and Mark (Kassie) Zeiler of Saxonburg; and a great-grandson, Kristian Spece of TX. Also surviving is her dear niece and friend, Cheryl Brown of Natrona Heights; and several nieces and nephews; her sisters-in-law, Angie Kline of Natrona Heights, Sylvia Matusovich of Plum, Theresa Kissell of Cabot, and Rose Olean of Creighton, and Arlene (Richard) McCullough of FL. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew J. Spece Sr. in 2005, who she cared for 25 years after suffering a major illness; and her brothers, Paul, John, Stanley, Anthony, and Walter Rekasie. Visitation will be held at 10 a.m. until the time of the blessing service at 1 p.m., on Saturday, in DUSTER FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 347 E 10th Ave., Tarentum, 724-224-1526. Burial will be in Mt. Airy Cemetery, Natrona Heights. In lieu of flowers, contributions be made to Allegheny Valley Association of Churches, Food Bank, or the Allegheny Valley Library.
