Anna Jo Turner, a beloved soul who graced this world with kindness and warmth. Anna Jo, known affectionately as “Nanny” to many, has passed from this earth to be with her Heavenly Father. She was the epitome of a true matriarch whose presence brought comfort and solace to all who knew her.
Born on October 22, 1933, in Dallas, Texas, to her parents, Willie and Stella Alberts. Anna Jo and Bobby were married in Rockwall on December 6th, 1950. Anna Jo's journey on this earth came to a peaceful close on May 2, 2024, in Dallas, Texas, with loving family by her side. Throughout her life, Anna Jo touched the hearts of countless individuals with her genuine hospitality and unwavering grace. Her legacy extends far beyond her time here with us.
Anna Jo dedicated many years of her life as a bookkeeper for the Kaufman County Tax office until her well-deserved retirement in 1996. However, her true pride and joy stemmed from her role as the nurturing cornerstone of her family. She leaves behind a treasure trove of memories for her surviving family and friends.
Grieving the loss of Anna Jo are her loving daughters Donna Warren, Cindy Milligan (partner Eddie Boyd), and Gina Wilhoit. She had seven grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. In heaven, Anna Jo reunites with her late husband Bobby Gene Turner, her beloved parents, two sisters, two brothers, grandson, Daniel Warren, her niece, Jan Temple, and second husband P.L. Barnes.
Anna Jo's vibrant personality radiated kindness and made everyone feel at ease in her presence. She found joy in square dancing, singing in the church, tending to her yard, reading murder/ mystery novels and watching westerns. In her younger days…roller skating, bowling, sewing, and camping on an island at Lake Texoma. She loved exploring the vast landscapes of the United States—and had an adventurous spirit that never waned.
Amongst her proudest accomplishments was her active involvement at Cottonwood Baptist Church where she faithfully served and kept the congregation sweetened with delectable desserts—a testament to both her culinary talents and generous spirit.
Friends and family are invited to pay their respects at the visitation scheduled on May 8, 2024, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Parker - Ashworth Funeral Home in Kaufman followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM. The interment will take place at Oakland Memorial Park in Terrell at 3:15 PM.
Anna Jo Turner's light may have dimmed on earth, but it shines eternally in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know and love her. May she rest in peace knowing that her legacy of love will endure through generations to come.
