Anna Weiss Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Olsen-Gibson Funeral Home on Jan. 27, 2026.
Anna Weiss, age 97, of Johnson Creek (formerly of Racine), passed away peacefully on Friday, January 23, 2026, at the home of her son and caregiver.

Born in Germany, Anna was one of fourteen children of Martin and Barbara (Friedl) Laudenbach. She attended school in Germany and, in her mid-twenties, immigrated to the United States to join the rest of her family. On April 27, 1957, she married Rudolf "Rudy" Weiss. Together they operated the family business, Weiss Plumbing Company, beginning in 1961 until their retirement in 1998.

Anna and Rudy enjoyed 53 years of marriage until his passing in 2010. Anna was a fun-loving, sweet, and spirited mother of four rambunctious sons. Summers often meant loading up the station wagon-sometimes with cousins in tow-for trips to inland lakes near Racine, Milwaukee Brewers games, or scenic drives through southeastern Wisconsin in search of the best German butcher shops. During Packer season, Anna loved hosting neighborhood kids, serving spreads of Sentry meats during game days. Winters were spent at Alpine Valley, where Anna could be found at the bottom of the ski runs with a big thermos of hot chocolate, patiently waiting because her boys simply wouldn't leave the slopes.

Later in life, she became affectionately known as "Oma", providing loving care and babysitting for all her grandchildren. Spoiling the grandbabies was one of her greatest joys, and by God's grace, she had many wonderful years with them. Another highlight of her life was attending Milwaukee's annual German Fest, which she never missed since its inception in 1981-often serving as the heart of an unofficial Laudenbach family reunion.

Anna is survived by her sons Michael (Debra), Fred (Kelly), Reinhard (Lori), and Gary (Chris); grandchildren Erich, Sarah, Alaina, Janelle, Evan, Ryan, Hannah, and Meagan; great-grandchildren Quinton, Addison, Keegan, Parker, and Mason; as well as many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, beloved husband, and all of her siblings.

Committal services will be held at Southern Wisconsin Memorial Cemetery in Union Grove, where she will be laid to rest beside her husband. A memorial service will be planned for this summer.
