Annabelle Rae Vander Veen
Birch Run, Michigan
Passed away Thursday, November 17, 2022, at her home. Age 91 years.
The daughter of the late Hilda Mae (Armentrout) and Ray Clifford Strouse was born March 19, 1931, in Clare, Michigan. She married the love of her life, Rev. H. Dean Vander Veen, August 12, 1951. Her husband of 70 years passed away December 15, 2021. She served together with her husband, founding Calvary Community Church in 1971. She was very active in the church and with her congregation. She enjoyed baking, quilting, making lamp shades and finding great items at rummage sales.
Surviving are three children, Robin Lynn Tyndall of Saginaw; Gary Dean (Margarite) Vander Veen of Harrison; Deanne Rae Vander Veen of Birch Run; 10 grandchildren: Joshua, Christopher(Autumn), Stephanie (Mark), Tucker (Rachel), Marsha, Justin (Maria), Jason (Heather), Chad (Angie), Jamie, and Tim (Pam); 22 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Esther Randle and Marlene Root, a brother, Leonard Strouse; many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. She was predeceased by her husband, parents and a brother, Charles Strouse.
The funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 22, 2022, at Calvary Community Church, 2895 E. Moore Rd. Annabelle’s son, Rev. Gary Vander Veen and Rev. Matt Coppess will officiate with burial in Cook Cemetery, Taymouth Twp. Friends may visit with family at the W. L. Case and Co. Funeral Chapel, 5700 Dixie Hwy from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Monday and then at the Church from 10:00 a.m. Tuesday until the time of the funeral service. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider Calvary Community Church.
