Anne Luce, whose warmth and adventurous spirit touched countless lives, passed away at age 100 on December 6, 2025.
Born Anne Lesick on May 16, 1925, in Ohio, to Mary and Frank Lesick, Ukrainian immigrants, Anne was raised in a vibrant household as one of eleven children.
In 1945, Anne proudly served her country in the Navy WAVES (Women Accepted for Volunteer Emergency Service), an experience that ignited her passion for adventure and travel. Following her military service, she embarked on a glamorous career as a stewardess for Western Airlines, where she embraced the excitement of aviation's golden age. It was during this exciting chapter of her life that she met and married, Western Airlines pilot Ollie Luce.
Anne and Ollie exchanged vows in an intimate ceremony at the Little Church of the West in Las Vegas in 1952. Anne welcomed Ollie's son Larry from his previous marriage into her heart, and together they built a beautiful life in sunny
Manhattan Beach, California. Their family grew to include Randall, Debra, Thomas, and Sandra. Though the family briefly relocated to Costa Mesa in the 1960s, they returned to their Manhattan Beach home in 1968, where their roots ran deep.
When Anne was widowed in 1968 with four minor children, she demonstrated remarkable strength and dedication, working full-time to support her family. Her resilience during this challenging time exemplified her loving strength that had always been her hallmark.
As the years passed, Anne's family continued to blossom. Larry married Maryanne, and they had two children, Heather and Trevor, who quickly became cherished members of the Luce family. In 1980, when Debra married Michael Robinson, Anne joyfully embraced her new role as Grandma to Shaun and Andrea. Following Mike's untimely passing in 1985, Anne became an indispensable presence in her grandchildren's lives, providing loving support to Debbie while she worked full-time and creating an unbreakable bond with Shaun and Andrea.
Anne found joy in life's simple pleasures-working on jigsaw and word puzzles, being outside in the sunshine, and indulging in her love of sweets. She always kept herself busy, and had a deep desire to be useful and helping others. These qualities reflected her practical nature, tireless spirit, and generous heart, bringing purpose and happiness throughout her long and fulfilling life.
Anne was the loving glue that held her family together-a constant source of warmth, wisdom, and unconditional love. Her legacy is one of adventure, service, and devotion to her family. She inspired all who knew her to embrace love, cherish relationships, and find joy in every moment.
Anne was preceded in death by her husband Ollie Luce, her son Thomas Luce, and stepson Larry Luce. She is survived by her children Randall Luce, Debra (née Luce) Robinson, and Sandra Luce; grandchildren Shaun Robinson, Andrea Robinson, Heather (née Luce) Towner, and Trevor Luce; and great-grandchildren Alicia (née Towner) Reed and Garrett Towner who will all forever treasure her memory.
