Obituary for Anne F. Maier

Anne Maier of Tuckahoe, New York, passed away peacefully after a long and full life shaped by family, work, and the simple joys she loved. She was born on September 16, 1928, to Richard and Elva Maier, and was raised alongside her sister Phyllis, with whom she shared a close bond, and her brother Richard.

Anne was deeply devoted to her friends and family, especially her nieces and nephews, and took great pride in staying connected to their lives, following with pride, interest, and unwavering affection.

She enjoyed a long career at ATandT and later worked at Eastchester High School, where she was a familiar and valued presence.

She loved traveling the world and embraced new places and cultures with enthusiasm.

Anne also had a lifelong love for the New York Giants and never missed an opportunity to cheer them on. She also cherished her lifelong friendships, maintaining close bonds that brought her joy, laughter, and companionship throughout her life.

Anne is survived by her niece Sharon Russo and her husband Bobby; her grand-niece Shannon Nella and her husband Bryan; her grand-nephew Robert Russo Jr.; and her great-grand-nephews Matthew and Alex Nella, predeceased by her nephew James McGinness Jr, all of whom she loved dearly.

Anne will be remembered for her devotion to family, her fierce independence, and her strong, steady presence. She had a sharp wit and a fearless honesty, but her strength was always matched by a deep and loyal love. She will live on in the hearts of those who knew her.

There will be a small service held at Westchester Funeral Home, Saturday February 7th at 11-12pm.

Dear Anne,
We will surely miss your wit and humor at Cabrini and that occassional smile on your face when we brought treats to you, especially Twinkies. You did make a difference in our lives Anne for you challenged us all the time....lots of memories. God Bless you and be at Peace.

Anne was a good friend of my mother, Doris Danyko. They worked together at AT&T and spent many summers on LBI with their other friends Marianne and Ellie. My sincere condolences to her family.

Dear Anne,
Growing up in Eastchester, attending EHS and working for the School District as an adult, it was a pleasure getting to know you. Thank you for being there for me when my Dad passed when I was a Senior, and being a friend to my family and I. I can still hear her booming voice when I walk the halls of the HS. You will be missed.

Sincerely,
Augie Nardone III
