Anne Garrett Bradford McCartney

Age 98

Anne Garrett Bradford McCartney, age 98, of Cutler Bay, Florida, passed away peacefully on January 27, 2026.

Anne was known for her quick wit and wonderful sense of humor. She brought laughter wherever she went and was a loyal, caring friend to many. She was especially devoted to her family and was a loving and wonderful big sister to her brother, Bob.

Born on August 11, 1927, Anne grew up in Delaware County, Pennsylvania. She graduated from Swarthmore High School and went on to attend Pembroke College at Brown University. Early in her career, Anne worked for Eastern Airlines in Philadelphia and later transferred to Miami, Florida, where she continued her employment with Eastern for several more years. She later became a medical secretary, working in Coral Gables and South Miami until her retirement.

Anne was the widow of John W. McCartney. She is survived by her three nephews, Robert G., Gary A., and Timothy M. Bradford, and her niece, Anne Lynn (Bradford) Langloh. She is also survived by Anne Lauterbach, Kim Dinsmoor, and Karen Christenson of Edmonds and Seattle, Washington, as well as her dear friends Diane and Brian Jarvinen and Jennifer Dixon of Palmetto Bay, who held a special place in her life.

A memorial graveside service will be held at Old St. Ann's Episcopal Church in Middletown, Delaware. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.

Anne will be remembered with love for her humor, kindness, and the lasting friendships she cherished throughout her life.
