SULLIVAN, Anne Elcock "Grammar" Age 95, of Wellesley, MA and Center Harbor, NH, passed away on August 15, 2025. Anne was born on December 29, 1929 to Joseph and Anna Elcock. The youngest of six children, Eleanor Strapp, Joseph Elcock, Ruth Elcock, Mary Duffey and Walter Elcock, this spirited redhead grew up in Chestnut Hill, MA and graduated from Newton Country Day School of the Sacred Heart and Newton College of the Sacred Heart. Anne was a devout member of St. Paul's Church, Wellesley, and St. Charles Borromeo, Meredith, NH, and a member of The Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre. Anne married the love of her life, Jack Sullivan, creating a home filled with love, laughter, family, faith and hospitality. Anne was the beloved mother of Dan (Jacqui) Sullivan of Norwell, Jack (Sue) Sullivan of Hingham, Peter (Kerry) Sullivan of Falmouth, Debbie (Roger) Stone of Greenville, SC, Martha Sullivan of Southborough, Tom (Meredith) Sullivan of New Canaan, CT, and Mark (Andrea) Sullivan of Medfield. "Grammar" was adored by her 18 grandchildren: Randy, Jack, Caroline, Kate, Brian, Jackie, Roger, Emily, Annie, Michael, Robert, Christopher, Ryan, Will, Charlie, Ksenia, Thomas and John; and by her 4 great-grandchildren: Kathleen, Josephine, Laurel and Charlotte. She will be dearly missed by her dozens of nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family and friends. Anne excelled as an English teacher and Drama teacher at Waltham High School and at the Catherine Laboure School of Nursing. From Shakespeare to Rodgers & Hammerstein, she shared her love for language and literature with her students, children and grandchildren – hence her name "Grammar." Anne's favorite place in the world was at Camp Asquam in Center Harbor, NH. She spent every summer there as a camper, counselor and Camp Director. Then Anne cherished the days entertaining her children and grandchildren with her "Cookie Club" on the Main "B" porch, giving swimming lessons at the lake, tending her beautiful flower boxes and watching the sun set over Squam. Anne will be forever remembered for her spirit, love of life, faith and devotion to the Blessed Mother, her love for her husband Jack and her joy and pride when surrounded by her family, especially the grandchildren! Friends and family are invited to celebrate Anne's life at a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, August 20th, at 10am, at St. Paul Church, 502 Washington Street, Wellesley.
