Annette Alice Brown (Annie to some) was born Feb. 11, 1940, to Edwin and Helen Daenzer in Frankenmuth, Mich., speaking German until kindergarten.
Annette studied education at the University of Michigan. While at U-M, she was tasked with finding entertainment for her sorority party, as a result she met Robert Wesley Brown, a musician also at U-M. She married RWB, the love of her life, on June 23, 1963. Later, Annette earned her master's degree in social work from Western Michigan University. She retired from Coloma Public Schools as a math and science teacher.
Annette will be remembered as the much-loved sister of Don Daenzer and Jerry Daenzer; devoted mother to Angela Fry and Kimberly Moebus; Nana to Gabrielle Fry, Cameron Mobeus, Liza Mobeus and Harper Moebus; proceeded by her death is her husband, Robert Brown and granddaughter, Chasney Fry.
Prior to her death on Feb. 8, 2026, she lived an independent, purposeful and active life with family, neighbors and friends. Let us all remember her smile, laughter and colorful conversations. Annette's favorites included nightly ice cream, the word "lollipop," Tchaikovsky: Serenade for Strings, a good guffaw (look up the definition), musical events, "The View" and reading.
Annette was a lifetime active member, including board positions, of American Association of University Women, a nonprofit organization, which has been a leader in promoting women financially to pursue college degrees in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math). In Annette's honor, an endowment fund will be established to award scholarships to young women into perpetuity. Please make checks payable to AW Foundation and mail to: P.O. Box 267492, Weston, FL 33326.
Both Bob and Annette will be interred at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, Ill., where a memorial service will be held on June 23, 2026, their wedding anniversary.
