Annette Klein Obituary

Visit the Seaside Memorial Park & Funeral Home website to view the full obituary.
We regretfully announce the passing of Annette Grossman Klein on March 5, 2026, in Houston, Texas. Annette was born and raised in Corpus Christi, where she lived most of her life. She attended W.B. Ray High School and later graduated from Sophie Newcomb College at Tulane University. Although she traveled the world, Corpus Christi was always the center of her geographical universe. She loved Corpus deeply, and when she married Mel Klein, he happily agreed to move here because she never wanted to leave.

Throughout her life, Annette was known for her beauty and impeccable style. Yet those who knew her best understood that her true beauty came from within. She was kind, humble, generous, and deeply compassionate.

One of Annette's greatest passions was helping animals. She encouraged family and friends to support Peewee's Pet Adoption & World Sanctuary in Corpus Christi, a cause very close to her heart. Madison's Clinic at Peewee's is named after one of her beloved dogs. Each morning, she faithfully fed the band of cats that gathered at her door, always making sure she was up early to greet them. If she ever saw a stray or abandoned dog along the road, she would pull over, feed it from the stash of dog food and water she kept in her trunk, and take it to Peewee's so it could be cared for and given a chance at a better life.

But most of all, Annette loved her children and grandchildren. Through the triumphs and tragedies of life, Annette remained focused, always doing the right thing and never making it about herself. Annette was a strong and determined woman. She knew what she wanted and moved forward with purpose, rarely waiting for things to happen-she made them happen. Her parents, Irene and Dr. Saul Grossman, and their care for others, their sensitivity, and their strength were her role models.

Annette will be remembered for her elegance, courage, fortitude, and generous heart. Her kindness, warmth, honesty, reliability, and unmistakable style will be remembered by all who knew and loved her.

Annette was predeceased by her daughter Jacqueline Klein and by her former husband Melvyn Klein. She is survived by her daughter Jenna Klein; her two grandchildren Catalina and Caden; by her beloved dogs Harlow and Rosco; and by her loyal and loving extended family: her sister Kay Rosen, Mark Kolodny, Delores Vela, Linda Moreno, and Al Perryman; by cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends, many of which she had from childhood. We are deeply grateful for the wonderful care she received at M.D. Anderson Hospital in Houston.

Annette will be deeply missed.

In lieu of flowers, we kindly ask that donations be made to Peewee's Pet Adoption World & Sanctuary, Corpus Christi.

Funeral Services will take place at Seaside Funeral Home Main Chapel, Wednesday March 11, 2026, with the Visitation at 1:00 pm and Funeral Service at 2:00 pm.
