Annette Porter Obituary

Born November 6, 1941, in Rock Hill, she was the daughter of the late Walter Andrew Neal and the late Rebecca McManus Neal. She was a member of Sumter First Church of God. She was a faithful follower of Jesus Christ and adored by all who had the privilege of being in her presence. Her strength, elegance, perseverance and grace were unmatched. She was the anchor to our family, a sweet soul and a precious dear friend to so many. She was a joy giver, a grace dispenser and will be deeply missed by all.
Survivors include her husband of 66 years; three daughters, Carolyn Thames (Jerry), Lora Durrance, and Mitzie Tibbets (Eric); 16 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; 8 great-great grandchildren; and two sisters, Diane Neal Waldrop and Vivian Neal Patterson (Carl Dean Sr.).
She was preceded in death by Ronald Dunlap Neal, Margie Neal Wyatt, Mary Ellen Neal Tysinger, Peggy Jo Neal Rogers, and Walter Dunlap Neal.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 AM Monday, October 27, 2025, at Sumter First Church of God with the Rev. Ron Bower officiating. Burial will be at 2 PM Monday in the Fort Jackson National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sumter First Church of God Youth Group, 1835 Camden Hwy., Sumter, SC 29153.
