In Loving Memory of Annette Nevon Webster
Annette Nevon Webster, who was born on December 13, 1941, in
Williamsburg, Va, was peacefully called to her Heavenly home on February 20, 2026. Though these dates mark her life, they could never measure the love she gave or the quiet difference she made in this world.
Annette was most fondly known by her middle name – Nevon. When she was just sixteen, Nevon moved to Florida, settling in Brevard County, where she built the life we all came to know - a life rooted in devotion. She served the children of Brevard County for 37 years as a school bus driver, but to say that was her "job" doesn't feel big enough. It was her heart. But she didn't just drive a bus - she carried precious cargo.
She had a special tenderness for children with special needs, watching over them with fierce gentleness and unending patience. She called them "her kids." She remembered their stories, their struggles, their smiles and made them feel safe. Many of them ran to her with hugs, and she never forgot them.
At home, Nevon's creative hands were almost always busy. If she wasn't painting something beautiful onto a canvas, she was crocheting or knitting blankets and gifts that wrapped people in warmth long after they left her house. Her flower garden was a reflection of her: gentle, colorful, and full of life. Her flowers were her pride and joy. She tended them carefully, talking to them sometimes, nurturing them the way she nurtured everyone in her life - with attention, softness, and delight.
She also loved her simple pleasures. She loved watching true crime and murder mysteries, studying every detail like she might solve the case herself. And if there was an animal show on, you could be sure she was watching, completely captivated.
The world feels a little softer and brighter because she was here. And though our hearts ache, we are better for having been loved by her.
We will carry her with us - in the stories, in the gardens, in the acts of kindness we offer in her honor.
Nevon was preceded in death by her beloved sister, Sharlie - a loss she carried deeply.
She leaves behind her children, Cliff (Jennifer) Webster, Victor Webster, and Byce (Vickii) Cook; her siblings, Louetta Buckner and Dee (Don) Garland; her treasured grandchildren, Chance Webster, Lexi Webster, and John Webster; and her sweet great-grandchildren, Hudson and Owen. She also leaves behind countless extended family members, friends, former students, and families whose lives were made better simply because she was part of them.
If you knew Nevon, you knew her steadiness. You knew her warmth. You knew that she showed up - quietly, faithfully, without needing recognition. She loved in practical ways: through rides to school, handmade blankets, a garden in bloom, a listening ear.
She will always be remembered.
Our family wanted to take this opportunity to thank the ER and ICU staff, nurses and doctors at Health First Viera Hospital, who treated Nevon with tenderness and respect, comforting all of us in her last hours.
