Annie went to her heavenly home at Haywood Regional Medical Center on October 20th 2025.
She was the daughter of the William L. and Susie P. Franklin, wife of the late Samuel R. Fie. Preceded also in death were her daughters Tamara L. Fie and Janet J. Fie, grandson Jonathan Stewart, brothers David, Bruce, and Billy Franklin, niece Cheryl Moody, and nephew Jerry Wyatt.
She is survived by her son Steven R. Fie of Connelly Springs NC. Grandchildren Jennifer Clark, Ryan Stewart, Chris Wagoner, Kyle Asherbranner (Rodica), Tiffany Fie, and William Fie. Great-grandchildren Reece and Romy Wagoner, Nora Asherbranner, Robert Clouse, Kendall and Kiah Wyman, Kaylee Austin, Zach Sandlin, and Scarlett Ann Rose. Three sisters, Linda Moody (Jesse), Jean Cooper, and Carolyn Franklin. Plus several nieces and nephews that were so dear to her.
We all called her "DeeDee", and she was so deeply loved by each one. Her family was the focus of her heart, her love was constant, and she gave so much yet never wanted anything in return. She was a wonderful caregiver, and she took care of many that she gave extra attention to; family, friends, and at her job. She wanted to take the best care that she felt they deserved, and they got that care, some of the best they had ever received. She always went that extra mile serving others. She truly was a rare gift to all who loved and knew her. Rest in the arms of Jesus, our precious "mother hen".
Smoky Mountain Cremations and Funeral Service of Maggie Valley is caring for the family and the online register is available at www.smokymountaincremations.com.
