John (Jack) Seward Jones, a resident of Waynesville, NC, and Astor, FL, passed away on Friday, October 10th, 2025, at the age of 77.
He is survived by his wife, Jean Jones; his children, Becky (Gene) Hobbs, Katie (Josh) McEwen, Susan (Bryan) O'steen, and Jackie Jones; his sister, Cindy Jones; sixteen grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his mother, Beatrice Cuomo; father, John Paul Jones; brother, Richard Jones; and his grandson, Andrew Hobbs.
He was born in Auburn, NY, on February 1st, 1948. He proudly served with the Seabees, in the United States Navy as a part of the Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB-10) during the Vietnam War. During this time, he learned millwork and construction skills, which led him to open and operate his own business, Neu-Jo Industrial Inc. & Tru-Fab Inc., for over thirty years. He relocated with his family to Lakeland, Florida, in 1982. Later in life, he and his wife enjoyed living several months of the year in the Philippines. He loved working on projects, including his Corvette. He lived life to the fullest, by golfing, fishing, boating, dancing, and having cookouts with his family and friends.
A twenty-one-gun salute and celebration of life will be held at The Moose Lodge (74 George Dr., Waynesville, NC 28786) on Wednesday, October 15th, 2025, @ 5:30 PM.
