Annie Ruth Jackson, aged 96, of Parkton, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, in the comfort of her home, surrounded by cherished family and friends. Born on October 10, 1929, in her family's home in Lumber Bridge, North Carolina, Annie Ruth lived a life marked by devotion, warmth, and boundless love.
A beloved mother, daughter, sister, wife, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, Annie Ruth's name evokes cherished memories of her exceptional culinary creations and heartfelt conversations. Her lifelong commitment to Lumber Bridge Presbyterian Church was profound, where she served in the kitchen and Sunday School, earning her a distinguished lifetime membership. Annie Ruth's life was a testament to love, laughter, and an enduring spirit that continues to inspire all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her nine siblings; her devoted husband of fifty-three years, Charles William Jackson Sr., "CW"; her daughter, Cathy Britt; her grandson, Jerry Paul Britt Jr.; her son-in-law, Jerry Britt; and her great-great-granddaughter, Kinly Trude Chavis. Annie Ruth is survived by her children: Charles William Jackson Jr. (Rose); Carson Frank Jackson; Amy Jackson Smith; and Dixie Bennett Mabe (Chris). She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Mollie Dunn; her grandchildren: Marianne Chavis (Tim); Tina Lynn Tyndal (TJ); Jerry Truong (Tien); Carson Jackson II (Lia); William Koty Britt; Reinaldo William Jackson; Christopher Mark Mabe (Kristina); Amy Katherine Ammons (Cory); Jackson Matthew Smith; Crystal Madison Mabe (Tyler); and Gaston Noah Jackson; as well as fourteen great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Friday, October 24, 2025, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Boles Saint Pauls Funeral Home, 565 W McLean Street, St. Pauls, NC 28384. Funeral Service will be held Saturday, October 25, 2025, at 11:00 am at Lumber Bridge Presbyterian Church, with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
The family extends their deepest gratitude to those who provided compassionate care in Annie Ruth's final days: Pruitt Hospice and Palliative Care, particularly Brandy, China, and Jordan, as well as Maryann Smith and Daisy Bratcher. Your love and dedication will forever be appreciated. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made to Lumber Bridge Presbyterian Church, 400 North Fayetteville Street, Lumber Bridge, NC 28357, to support the music department or cemetery fund (designated fence), causes dear to Annie Ruth's heart.
