Annie Lou Spivey O'Quinn, age 92, of Sanford, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 1, 2022, peacefully surrounded by her family at her home.
She was born in Lee County on December 10, 1929 to the late Lynwood Alexander Spivey and Mamie Anne Coggins Spivey Batchelor. Mrs. O'Quinn worked as a service manager at Sears. She served at Sanford First Pentecostal Church where she was a choir member, Sunday School Teacher, Church Secretary, and was a strong prayer warrior. Mrs. O'Quinn was preceded in death by her husband Joe O'Quinn and a son Lynwood Neal O'Quinn.
Surviving relatives include her son, Bruce Clay O'Quinn of Sanford, her daughter, Jo Anne Westbury and Ed of Fuquay-Varina; four grandchildren, Brandy Poindexter, Edward Lee Westbury, Jessica Nicole Simpson, and Whitney Lynn Smith; and five great grandchildren.
A graveside will be held Thursday, October 6, 2022, 3PM at Lee Memory Gardens with Pastor Tony Ward presiding. Burial will follow in Lee Memory. The family requests in lieu of flowers donations be made to the American Cancer Society in her memory.
