She is survived by her husband, Elbert Buell Short; daughters, Sharon Lynn (Douglas Edward) Hicks, and Kimberly Cherie (Julian Eric) Freeman; grandchildren, Jessica Christin (Christopher Scott) Allison, Travis Jedidiah (Ashlyn Grace) Clifford, Kristin Nicole (Nicholas Wayne) Magness, Allison Paige (Colby Ryan) Higdon; great grandchildren, Hudson Creed Allison, Amiya Grace Clifford, Ella Grace Magness, Amelia Rose Magness, Kinslee Aday Higdon, Creighton Ryan Higdon.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Annie Mae Eakin; daughter, Tina Renae Allen; sister Hazel Baugh; brothers, Wayne Eakin, Raymond Eakin, and Melvin Eakin.
Visitation will be Sunday, April 20, 2025, from 4 – 8 p.m. at the Scottsboro Funeral Home Chapel. The Graveside Funeral Service will be Monday, April 21, 2025 at 1:00 PM at New Canaan Cemetery in Section, Alabama with Brother Terry Wright and Brother David Kittrell officiating.

Larry Moorehead They moved out of our community back to their home in Alabama but they are missed here in Lynchburg. Mrs. Annie was always nice and had a smile on her face when I made calls to their farm. Keep in mind she is in a better place now with all her problems taken care of. Mr. Everett you will be in our prayers.
