Ms. Annie Louise Vantrease, age 97, of Westmoreland, TN, passed away on February 25, 2023 at Westmoreland Care and Rehab Center. She was born on February 23, 1926 to John and Lillian Thompson Shrum, who preceded her in death.
She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Edward, Cecil and Dewey Shrum; her sisters, Francis Shrum, Lucille Thompson and Betty Gregory; her husbands, John Tuttle, Hayden Clark, Thomas Vantrease and special friend, Fred Brown; her grandsons, Timothy Thompson, Terry and Johnny Shadowens, and Johnny Beasley; her great-grandson, Charlie Green; her sons-in-law, Jimmy Bates, Bobby Bradley, Jerry Doss; and former son-in-law, J. W. Thompson.
She is survived by her children, Jean (Jim) Baggett, Patricia Bates, Virginia Bradley, Delbert (Linda) Clark, Dwain (Kay) Clark and Dottie Doss; her grandchildren, Pamela Green, Jennifer Denton, Reponzel Dumumbra, Michelle (Ricky) Elkins, Debra (Scott) Rippy, Jason (Debra) Thompson, Joseph (Amy) Thompson, Michael (Debbie) Clark, Christopher (Hope) Clark, Marty (Tabitha) Clark, Tonya (Greg) Dunigan, Adam (Paige) Clark, Casey Clark, Chad Doss, Emily (David) Goodman, Carrie (Bill) Moore, Tiffany (Secret) Doss and Tony (Penny) Shadowens; her brother, Jessie Shrum; her sister, Gail (Patrick) Eller; as well as her 41 great-grandchildren, 43 great-great grandchildren, and 2 great-great-great grandchildren; along with a host of nieces and nephews.
She was a member of Buffalo Springs Missionary Baptist Church.
The family would like to thank the staff of Westmoreland Care & Rehab for their dedication and care of our mom over the last seven years.
Funeral services for Ms. Vantrease will be conducted on Wednesday, March 1, 2023 at 1PM from the chapel of Woodard Funeral Home with Bro. Greg Dunigan and Bro. Patrick Eller officiating. Interment will follow in the Forest Chapel Cemetery. Serving as active pallbearers will be Jason Thompson, Joseph Thompson, Michael Clark, Christopher Clark, Marty Clark, Adam Clark, Casey Clark and Chad Doss.
The family will receive visitors on Tuesday, February 28th from 3PM till 8PM and again on Wednesday, March 1st from 9AM till service time at 1PM at Woodard Funeral Home.
